Habitat for Humanity of Martin County is always grateful, but never surprised by the outreach in our community by local businesses and churches. The Collegiate Challenge groups get a good night sleep at the Clarion Inn of Stuart and start their day with a warm breakfast with some very tasty waffles. They are then ready to build with us on Driftwood Avenue in Port Salerno.
A tremendous effort went into coordinating meals for all of our Collegiate Challenge groups this March. The volunteer department would like to extend a very sincere 'Thank You' to the churches and restaurants listed below who have gone the extra mile to ensure that these students are well fed during their Spring Break.
The next time you visit one of the following churches or restaurants, be sure to let them know you appreciate their support of Habitat for Humanity.
- Vesuvios Pizzeria
- St. Mary’s Episcopal Church
- Chipotle Mexican Grill
- St. Joseph’s Catholic Church
- Chick-fil-A
- Jensen Beach Community Church
- Ruby Tuesday
- Peace Presbyterian Church
- Chili’s
- Trinity United Methodist Church
- Outback Steakhouse
- Grace Place
- Cowboy’s BBQ & Grill
- First United Methodist Church, Stuart
- Bono’s BBQ & Grill
- Jersey Mike’s Subs
- Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza
We do allow the kids some fun time, and they've all found their way to the beach. Once again, the community has come to assist, offering some fun activities for the students. Thank you to Stuart Lanes Bowling for offering a special bowling package. We also thank Florida Oceanographic for providing tickets for all the students to visit the aquariums.
Collegiate Challenge 2012 was, yet again, a big success and it is because of our community that continues to support Habitat for Humanity of Martin County.
